Telecommunication Unit

Kerala Police Telecommunication is the backbone of the Police Force in the State. The Police Telecommunication wing is the Communication and Technical wing of the Police Department.Telecommunication unit is entrusted with upkeep and maintenance of all communication channels and equipments. To provide Telecommunication network to the day to day policing in the District, there functioning a telecommunication unit in the district under the supervision of Inspector of Police, Telecommunication.

Telecommunication unit of Malappuram is headed by Inspector of Police, Telecommunication. About 41 numbers of Police officials in the ranks of Sub Inspectors, Assistant Sub Inspectors, Head Constables and Police Constables from Kerala Police Telecommunication is working in this unit for upkeep and maintenance of communication channels and the equipment. VHF District communication functioning through VHF repeaters. In Malappuram district, repeater station is situated in Panthallur Hills. For the repair and maintenance of Computers in the District, a District Computer Maintenance Unit (DCMU) and for the maintenance of VHF equipments a District Maintanance Unit(DMU) is also functioning within the Telecommunication Unit.
