Malappuram Police Sub Division came into existence on 26-02-1987 as per GO (MS) 17/87 Home Dated 03-02-1987. Sub Division consists the Area of Ernad Taluk. Malappuram Sub Divisional Police Office is housed in Government Building (building No. XIII/411 of Malappuram Municipality) by the western side of Palakkad-Kozhikode NH, (NH 966) nearly 1 km from Malappuram town. The present building of the Sub Divisional Police Office was inaugurated on 18-05-2010. The office building is situated near to the MSP Head Quarter compound.
